We fell behind and never caught up.  The company was in another state and we tried to work with them but it seemed that we just could not catch up. In the summer of 2008 we were told my insurance had lapsed for four months so I  the company added that on to my payment and I could not stay current.  It just continued to get worse. now I get a notice that I have three days to get and its Christmas eve.  I cannot tell my kids or family because this is supposed to be the season of Christs birth not the fall of the blue collar worker.  We were told that the house insurance lapsed. we know we paid our agent who supposedly never send the money to mortgage company. we moved to Pilot Grove Missouri in June. The local bank here in Pilot Grove was attempting to put a SBA loan assumption through for us so we could buy the Pilot Grove store. We moved here in June...and were told for several months by the bank that they were waiting still on the SBA. After about 2-3 months here, I realized I better find a temp job until we get the store. I could not, and STILL CANNOT FIND A JOB. This is a town of about 700 people, and the nearest town , Columbia Missouri, is about 30 miles. Just about a month ago, while I checked into the SBA loan assumption myself, I found out from them that they HAD NO ACTUAL LOAN APPLICATION turned in....this whole time. I cannot find a job, this chasing the dream....broke us so bad. I cannot pay credit cards, bills, Or the Kirksville house which we hadn't tried to sell...because it needed a a few minor cosmetic things. It was appraised at $91,000 about 6 years ago, we owe $73,000 on it......We got a letter today from a lawyer saying how we defaulted on the loan and basically the full amount is due or they will foreclose. can EMC modify my loan

Up until about a year ago, things were fine, My daughter got pregnant and we had some medical bills to contend with, then our  credit cards got out of hand and we were having trouble making payments on everything. I then found out that out mortgage was not what I had though, the loan broker had lied and the interest only loan I thought we had was not the truth. This is an ARM with a neg am option. we also had a prepayment penalty which I did not know about that kept us from refinancing into a better loan. I got a payment behind in our mortgage, with the late fees that have accrued, we now owe about 5000 dollars. If I could get out loan straightened out  to a fixed, low interest loan with payments of no more than I am paying now and start fresh, we could make the payments and keep the house.  Our mortgage company is EMC better business and loan modification we need an EMC loan modification

My husband has been out of work since Feb due to illness and was in the hospital for 8 weeks. I spoke with rep at EMC last month and they were supposed to contact me about restructuring loan. I called to see why I haven't heard from them and they said that I wasn't assigned to a negotiator but there was a note in system where we had spoken. I was self employed and had to give up my income for health reason.  My spouse had to take a lower paying job.  We got behind 3 months and ASC offered a forbearance, which we paid as prescribed.  They gave us a second one and we paid 3 months of the four and thought we had an agreement to do a modification.  They said they would postponed the sale, but didn't. Yes, my spouse has returned to his pre-financial crisis level.  Unfortunately, we found too late that EMC is the mortgage holder.  ASC would never let us know this in the past. will EMC modify my loan
