I own a home and purchased a lot of land 3 years ago in ME. Due to unforeseen circumstances I was unable to build on the land. At the time that I signed for this balloon loan on the land in ME the broker advised we could just refinance it, needless to say that is not possible on land loans with IndyMac bank. The recently mailed me back my Sept payment and refuse to assist me. They said if I do not pay the balloon option then they will forclose. I am not in a position to pay the balance of the loan but I have never missed a payment or been late. I have the property listed with a real estate broker but the current market situation means that it has sat and continues to sit. I have not fallen behind on this loan. I cannot get Indymac to extend the loan until I can sell it.
